RTA’s Search the City Scavenger Hunt

A few weeks ago I spent the day with a bunch of friends participating in the RTA Search the City Scavenger Hunt, which was a fun filled day taking trains and busses around Cleveland in search of clues and interesting places.  It was a crazy day, and completely exhausting, but tons of fun!  And while my team didn’t even come close to winning the challenge, we did win the Best Dressed contest!  I introduce to you… TEAM AWESOME!

It’s always handy to have a face painter on your team when there’s a costume contest!  😉

Happy Anniversary to ME!

Hello ladies and gents… I don’t know if any of you have been following this page from the beginning, but if you have then you know it’s been about 3 years since I started posting photos of my face paintings.  In fact, it has been 3 years exactly since I started face painting!  Wow, does the time fly!  Well I like to look at milestone dates like this as a benchmark for improvement.  If this year was good, I want the next year to be great!  I am a big fan of self improvement, and while it’s impossible to always improve in everything, I think it’s important to at least be able to look back at one big thing and say “wow… look at that, in the last year I’ve gotten so much stronger, thinner, faster, happier, etc…”  Whatever the thing, make sure you take the time to acknowledge the improvements you’ve made in your life!

And with that being said, take a look at this… on the left is the very first Two-Face I ever painted.  On the right is the one I painted last week.  Now that is some obvious improvement!  And what’s even better is I would bet it took me the same amount of time, if not less, to paint this new version!  It’s things like this that make me proud of myself and how far I’ve come as an artist.  🙂  I hope you find something in your life that you can be proud of too!

Let’s hear it for the BOYS!

Well folks, I made it to the end of my goal… I practiced new designs each weekend this month!  I have to say, it has been super fun trying new things!  I can’t wait to get these in my book for kids to choose at upcoming parties.  Not only did I practice new things, but I painted at some really awesome parties too!  This weekends plan was to paint new BOY designs…. Let me know what you think!

Now I know this is supposed to be all about boy designs, but I couldn’t resist trying out some new girl super hero’s too!

Nose Art!

Hello again art lovers!  I am so excited to show you what I learned this week!  Not only did I take time to practice, but I got to attend a fantastic workshop and learned a new painting style!  It was  SO fun… I love taking classes to learn new techniques, but this was one of my favorites.  We learned how to cartoon on the face, AND how to make our art ANIMATED!  These fun designs move with your face so when you scrunch, bunch, twist or expand your forehead and mouth the characters look like they’re moving.  I hope I get to paint one of these guys on you soon so you can see how fun they are!  I’d love to hear what you think!

Nose Penguin

Nose Bunny

This one is only half done because we needed to move on in class to the next cool thing.

Nose Duck

Nose Monkey

This bat is my own original design, based on what we learned in class.  I think he’s pretty awesome.  🙂

Here is a fun cartoon style heart design!  I think this one will be pretty popular.

And here are some practice eyeballs on my arm… I like the black eye the best… can’t wait to put those on a character soon!

Cartoon Eyes

So what do you think?  Do you like the new style?  I do have to admit, painting these guys on yourself is TRICKY!  Hopefully I’ll be painting them on some younger faces soon.  🙂

Holiday Face Painting Designs

Fa la la la Facepaint…

You have to love the holidays…. any holiday really, because they give me a reason to paint festive things that are only popular a short time of the year.  It keeps my painty fingers from getting bored with the same ol’ thing.  And the kids at all the holiday parties I paint at love them too!

Here are a few new Christmas designs on my board this year…

Ginger Bread Man

Elf Hat

Puffy the Penguin

Rudolph Nose

Sassy Santa Hat

Jack Skellington

Do you have a Christmas party planned in the next few weeks you’d like to add some extra fun to?  Give me a call… I’d love to paint for you!!

The Spooky side of Halloween

Tonight I spent some time working out new designs for this weekends fall festivals.  As much as I love the super gory side of Halloween, sometimes less scary and more SPOOKY is fun too!  Can’t wait to paint these on all the kiddos this weekend!

Come see me THIS SATURDAY, October 20th and get painted!
