As much as I love summer, I do love switching up my board of options for the fall… painting the same summertime favorites a million times gets a little boring. Hello and happy 2014! It’s been a slow beginning to the year for me painting wise, but I’ve now made up for that by spending the last 4 days at a Face Painting Convention! Who knew face painters had conventions, right? Well this was my third convention since I started painting in 2010 and they are super fun! Exhausting, but also challenging and exciting. The best thing about conventions is learning a whole new bag of tricks! I now have alot of things to practice, as well as some great new designs. I can’t wait to show you how it all turns out!
Here are the paintings I got to do at the convention. I tried to challenge myself and try some new things out. Hopefully these new skills turn into great new paintings to offer my clients!

I learned some amazing new tricks with split cakes and bought some new colors… I can’t wait to turn this into a birthday party design!
This was a challenge in a class… a Tiger Sugar Skull. I LOVE how those colors pop!
And this is for everyone who always asks how I paint myself… TA DA! Here I am painting myself… no big mystery, it’s just me, a paint brush and a mirror. 🙂

Ok, I know it’s almost Thanksgiving, and we’re all happily focusing on the next big holiday now, but I realized I never posted my last Sugar Skull of the year! This one turned out especially good, so I couldn’t let it pass by without a post. So here you go… I promise this is my last “halloweeny” pic for the year.

I know technically we still have a few days before the 31st, but for alot of the adult world, the weekend before Halloween is when the ghouls and goblins come out to play. Lucky for them I’m always happy to paint them up as creepy and cool as they want to be! Check out this weekends creations…
