FABAIC 2015

For those who aren’t familiar with the face painting world, FABAIC (the Face & Body Art International Convention) is THE face painting convention in the United States, and I had the pleasure of attending this year!  It was AMAZING!!!  Several hundred face and body painters from around the world, all in one room!  Here are just a few of my photos from the event.

My favorite thing I learned at the convention was painting gothic jewelry.  It is SO MUCH FUN to paint!  Check these out…

Another new trick I learned at the convention was how to paint graffiti style!  Super cool!  I need to keep practicing, but I hope this will be hit at festivals.

And the other first for me was entering a face painting competition!  I didn’t win, but it was really a rush to compete.  I am definitely looking forward to doing it again in the future!  The theme was “The Orient Express”.

Convention Paintings

Hello and happy 2014!  It’s been a slow beginning to the year for me painting wise, but I’ve now made up for that by spending the last 4 days at a Face Painting Convention!  Who knew face painters had conventions, right?  Well this was my third convention since I started painting in 2010 and they are super fun!  Exhausting, but also challenging and exciting.  The best thing about conventions is learning a whole new bag of tricks!  I now have alot of things to practice, as well as some great new designs.  I can’t wait to show you how it all turns out!

Here are the paintings I got to do at the convention.  I tried to challenge myself and try some new things out.  Hopefully these new skills turn into great new paintings to offer my clients!

What do you think?

This was a challenge in a class… a Tiger Sugar Skull.  I LOVE how those colors pop!

And this is for everyone who always asks how I paint myself… TA DA!  Here I am painting myself… no big mystery, it’s just me, a paint brush and a mirror.  🙂

Sugar, Sugar… Skull!

I’m SO excited to share these new pics with you!  Recently I had the honor of working again with the very talented Mark Wearsch of Wearsch Photography.  This is my second time painting up one of his models as a Sugar Skull, and he captured the work beautifully!  Sugar skulls have become one of my favorite things to paint… the intricate details make this style of art complex, but also stunning.  Take a look!

Arm Paintings

Hot times, summer in the city….

Hello again!  So it’s getting HOT right?  And we all know heat makes SWEAT, and sweat makes facepaint a little runny.  BOO!  Well great news… you can still get all colorful and painted at that outdoor party without worries… I can paint YOUR ARMS!  (Or legs, or back, etc).  It’s still fun and makes for cool pictures!  Check out some of these from last weekends birthday party…

And have you thought about Glitter Tattoos at your next party??  This is a huge hit with kids and adults, great for graduation parties!!  There’s no paint involved, and these beauties will last 4-5 days!  No worrying about sweating them off or smudges from sticky fingers.  It’s the perfect solution to those backyard BBQ’s!

Got questions?  Want to book a party?  Give me a call at 216-990-5929!
