Recently my niece came over for a sleep over, and the very first thing she said to me was “Aunt Amanda, can you paint my face?”. So the next day before heading out to the mall I let the girls pick whatever they wanted out of my extremely large collection of inspiration images… and of course my niece just wanted to be a cat. A black cat to be specific, because she’s into “natural fur colors” now. I had to haggle with her a bit, but finally talked her into letting me add some gold so she could be a Calico kitty, and I could still try out a new design. We were both quite happy with the results!
And my step-daughter just wanted something pretty… which I always love to paint!
And my last new design for today… Unfortunately I’m usually not able to take photos of my paintings at parties, but every once in a while I try to snap a few, especially when I try something new on the fly. This little darling was ADORABLE and made a super cute Dalmatian puppy… but was too squirmy to get a good picture! But it’s still cute, and makes me want to try this design again.
With the winter months ahead being my slow season, hopefully I’ll have time to play with more new designs soon! Check back to see my latest works!
Ok, I know it’s almost Thanksgiving, and we’re all happily focusing on the next big holiday now, but I realized I never posted my last Sugar Skull of the year! This one turned out especially good, so I couldn’t let it pass by without a post. So here you go… I promise this is my last “halloweeny” pic for the year.
Hello Halloween Lovers!!!
I know technically we still have a few days before the 31st, but for alot of the adult world, the weekend before Halloween is when the ghouls and goblins come out to play. Lucky for them I’m always happy to paint them up as creepy and cool as they want to be! Check out this weekends creations…
First up… the kid with some super cool parents… Terminator 2! (His brother was Terminator 1 two years ago!)
This here’s District Attorney Harvey Dent, for those who didn’t recognize him. ;)
Everyone’s favorite neighbor, Frank N. Stein
A meow kitty
Jack Skellington! (And a seriously cool Jack too, if I do say so myself)
Another pretty Sugar Skull… cause we all love sugar skulls!
A couple of rastafarians… Irie!
Myself! Because even the painter gets to have fun!
And of course Mr. Painter get’s painted too!
And here, ladies and gentlemen, is my crowning achievement of the day… Doesn’t she just make you want to go to the circus!!!
I hope you all had as much fun this weekend as we did! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
I still have a few time slots open for this Saturday! Call or email me to book your costume makeup appointment ASAP before it’s too late!
It’s almost that time… the most magical time of year… HALLOWEEN! When all the ghosts and goblins come out to play.
Book your costume makeup appointment for Saturday, October 26th while there is still availability!
I’m SO excited to share these new pics with you! Recently I had the honor of working again with the very talented Mark Wearsch of Wearsch Photography. This is my second time painting up one of his models as a Sugar Skull, and he captured the work beautifully! Sugar skulls have become one of my favorite things to paint… the intricate details make this style of art complex, but also stunning. Take a look!
Here’s a little behind the scenes action…. I’m so serious when I paint!
A few weeks ago I spent the day with a bunch of friends participating in the RTA Search the City Scavenger Hunt, which was a fun filled day taking trains and busses around Cleveland in search of clues and interesting places. It was a crazy day, and completely exhausting, but tons of fun! And while my team didn’t even come close to winning the challenge, we did win the Best Dressed contest! I introduce to you… TEAM AWESOME!
It’s always handy to have a face painter on your team when there’s a costume contest! ;)
I had the privilege of painting for a family reunion yesterday where the theme was definitely Love. I painted about a dozen designs all honoring Vivian, the family matriarch who passed away this year. It was beautiful to see how many adults and children wanted their paintings to pay tribute to their mother and grandmother. Here are just a few of the designs I painted…
I hope the family enjoyed my paintings as much as I did… the photos will make a touching addition to their family scrapbooks.
Hello fellow Americans! (and hello to my visiting friends from around the world, of course) Today we are celebrating our nations birthday, and you know how much I love a reason to paint for birthdays! In honor of the holiday, here are some new designs perfect for today’s festivities. I got to paint these last night at a fun event, and hopefully they will still be popular through the year. Enjoy, and happy 4th!
